- Scanning colour photographs and/or slides: Best bets are Copy & Printing centres such as : The Business Depot, Kinkos, Kwik Copy, Print Three.
- The Free Web Page template will accomodate images that are 400 pixels wide. We will accept images that are as wide as 800 pixels, however we will resize to meet the 400 pixel limit. Resolution should be set between 100 and 300 dpi, remembering that the average PC monitor will display at 72-100 dpi. We are recommending the higher resolution for original scanning in the event that you intend to use the scanned images for other types of media.
- Scanning to convert photos to jpg (pronounced: Jay-peg) format is fairly common place today.
- Scanning colour slides may not be as common. Other suggestions would be local university or college campus copy shops. Larger full service printing and imaging shops, or camera & photographic equipment stores (Henry's, Blacks etc) are another option.
- Popular option now available : Have your photos developed on Compact Disc. Software programs included with Windows 95 or 98 (Paint and/or Imaging) can then be used to help you view/choose the images you want to send. Images can be copied directly from CD and included as an attachment to an e-mail, which gets sent to our WebMaster.
